Refund Policy
This policy explains when you may request a refund, how AI credit usage affects eligibility, and how subscription cancellation works.
This Refund Policy applies to paid Mint Ebooks subscriptions and forms part of our Terms and Conditions. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
Nothing in this policy limits a refund, withdrawal, cancellation, or other consumer right that cannot legally be excluded where you live.
Policy overview
Mint Ebooks provides immediate access to digital services, including AI writing, outline generation, cover artwork, storage, and publication-file exports. Because these services incur costs when used, purchases are generally non-refundable after paid credits or paid features have been meaningfully consumed, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
We may approve a full or partial refund when a timely request is made, when the Service has a material technical defect, when a charge was made in error, or when mandatory consumer law provides a refund or withdrawal right.
14-day refund requests
You may request a refund within 14 calendar days of an initial paid subscription purchase or subscription renewal. Submitting a request within 14 days does not automatically guarantee a refund unless the refund is required by law.
We review requests individually. Relevant factors include:
- how much of the paid credit allowance has been used;
- whether outlines, chapters, cover artwork, or export files have been generated;
- the reason for the request and whether we can resolve the issue;
- whether the charge was duplicated, unauthorized, or made in error;
- the timing and history of previous refund requests; and
- any rights provided by the law in your country or region.
A request made after 14 days may be declined unless a longer period or another remedy is required by law.
Credits and generated content
If no paid-plan credits have been used, we will generally approve an eligible request submitted within 14 days. If credits or paid features have been used, we may approve a partial refund, restore credits affected by a verified failure, or decline the request depending on the value already consumed.
Downloading or using generated outlines, manuscripts, cover artwork, or export files may be treated as meaningful use of the Service. Credits have no cash value and cannot be separately exchanged for money.
If a subscription payment is fully refunded, paid-plan access and unused credits connected to that payment may end immediately. Your existing projects will remain subject to the account and retention terms described in our Terms and Privacy Policy.
Technical problems
If a persistent technical problem prevents you from receiving a paid feature as described, contact us promptly. Please include your account email, book title, approximate time of the problem, the affected feature, and any helpful screenshot. Never send full card details or a magic-link code.
We will first try to restore the feature, deliver the missing result, or return incorrectly consumed credits. If we cannot resolve a verified material defect within a reasonable time, we may provide an appropriate full or partial refund. This does not limit remedies required by consumer law.
Renewals and cancellation
Canceling a subscription and requesting a refund are different actions. You can cancel at any time through the secure billing portal. Cancellation prevents the next renewal and normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period; it does not automatically refund the current or a previous charge.
If you did not intend to renew, submit a refund request within 14 days of the renewal. We will consider the request using the criteria above, including whether credits or paid features were used after renewal.
How to request a refund
Email hello@mintebooks.com from the address connected to your Mint Ebooks account. Include:
- the account email and plan name;
- the charge date and amount;
- the reason for the request;
- whether any paid credits or generated files were used; and
- the Stripe receipt or invoice number, if available.
Do not send your complete card number, bank credentials, password, or magic-link code. We may request reasonable information to verify the account and transaction.
Approved refunds
Approved refunds are normally returned to the original payment method. We will submit the refund promptly and, where applicable law sets a deadline, within that deadline. After we submit it, your bank or payment provider controls when the funds appear in your account.
If the original payment method cannot receive the refund, we will work with Stripe and you to identify an appropriate lawful alternative. Currency conversion or bank fees charged independently by your payment provider may not be recoverable from Mint Ebooks.
Chargebacks and abuse
Please contact us before opening a chargeback so we have a chance to resolve the issue quickly. This request does not restrict any lawful right to dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer.
We may temporarily restrict paid features while a payment dispute is investigated. Refunds may be declined where there is evidence of fraud, repeated refund abuse, or manipulation of payment protections, subject always to applicable law. We may provide transaction and usage records to Stripe, banks, or card networks when responding to a dispute.
Mandatory consumer rights
Consumer laws differ by location. Some jurisdictions provide cooling-off, withdrawal, defective-service, unauthorized-payment, or other rights that cannot be waived. Those rights apply in addition to this policy and take priority if they provide greater protection.
In some locations, a right to withdraw from digital content or digital services may end after you expressly request immediate performance and begin using or benefiting from the service. We will apply any consent and notice requirements imposed by applicable law.
Policy changes
We may update this policy as the Service, billing arrangements, or legal requirements change. The version in effect when the relevant transaction occurred will normally govern that transaction, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
